The Call for Applications for the H-Gaza Virtual Research Collaboration Hub closed on 31 July 2026.
The call, launched on 1 July 2026, invited Palestinian researchers in and from Gaza to apply to participate in the pilot Virtual Research Collaboration Hub, a 9-month programme offering mentoring and career development guidance, research capacity support of up to EUR 7,000, discipline-specific discussion groups, training in transferable skills, networking and collaboration opportunities.
The call received 388 applications from researchers at different career stages, of which 75 will be invited to participate in the programme.
Eligible applications will be assessed by independent external evaluators against the criteria of Excellence, Relevance, and Impact, taking into account the applicant’s career stage, either as PhD candidate or postdoctoral/experienced researcher. The final selection is expected to be completed by the end of September 2026. Further information on the evaluation and selection process is available in the Terms of Reference for Applicants.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome following the completion of the selection process.
The H-Gaza team at UNIMED thanks all researchers who submitted an application and expressed their interest in the programme. The high level of interest demonstrates the importance of creating opportunities to support the continuity of research and strengthen international connections for Palestinian researchers in and from Gaza.
